As July 20 marked what would have been Chris Cornell’s 56th birthday, his daughter Lily Cornell Silver took the opportunity to kick off her first episode of his Mind Wide Open podcast.

Announced on the third anniversary of her death in May, Lily Silver Cornell’s first episode sets out on what would have been the 56th birthday of her late father, Chris Cornell.

Speaking to Instagram, Lily announced the first episode of the podcast featuring Laura Lipsky, author, trauma expert, and founder of the Trauma Stewardship Institute.

“Today, in honor of my father’s birthday, this is the first episode of Mind Wide Open,” she wrote. “I created this interview series with the goal of helping normalize and de-stigmatize conversations about mental health, and if that can make one person feel seen and heard, I will have achieved my objective.

Additionally, in a statement, Lily notes that “as someone who has suffered trauma and loss and struggled with anxiety and depression, I know how important it is to have a space to speak openly and shamelessly of these topics.

“There is so much value, especially to people of my generation, that everyone struggles with mental health at some point in their life, despite the contemptuous wellness tendencies in our society. emotional.”

Chris Cornell’s Daughter Says: It is important for me to give a voice to these issues by providing information, honest conversations, and resources through Mind Wide Open.
